What is Axie Infinity?
It is an ecosystem based on the online game Axie Infinity. The platform is developed by Sky Mavis studio. The project uses the Play-to-Earn concept.
Gameplay takes place in a virtual environment populated by Axie creatures. The platform allows you to cross them, creating new characters. Players earn by winning battles and selling virtual creatures.
The project's meta universe features player-owned territories. Areas are used for gameplay and resource extraction, and they can also be sold or rented out.
The Axie Infinity gameFi-project was built on top of Ethereum. A full ecosystem was deployed on the Ronin sidechain.
The platform uses two ERC-20 tokens: Axie Infinity Shards (AXS) and Smooth Love Potion (SLP). The developers also announced the release of the Ronin coin (RON).
Axie, virtual territories and objects exist outside of the game space. All objects are presented in the form of Ronin-based NFTs. They are traded on the Axie Infinity Marketplace. A crosschain bridge is used to move assets between Ronin and Ethereum.
The platform allows AXS to be deposited into the stack. The exchange of ERC-20 tokens in the Ronin network is done using DEX Katana. The exchange allows you to interact with AXS, SLP, USDC and WETH, as well as invest in liquidity pools.
Axie Infinity game mechanics?
The main characters in the online game are Axie creatures, and they can also be crossed. Creatures are divided into several classes: beast, plant, fish, bird, insect and reptile. Additional types include "dusk" and "dawn". You can determine the class by the color of the creature.

When crossing two Axes, you can produce offspring. To avoid excessive population growth, the ability to breed is limited. Each of the creatures can give offspring no more than seven times. Breeding requires payment of SLP, with a larger amount to be spent at each subsequent step.
Crossbreeding uses random variables, which eliminates prior determination of offspring characteristics and value. Body parts are passed on to the offspring with a certain probability. The chances of their formation are determined by heredity.
Axie's developmental process takes time. It takes 5 days for the creature to reach maturity. After that, its characteristics can be learned. Breeding produces unique characters of varying degrees of rarity. Generally, unusual creatures have better combat characteristics and are more valuable. Immature Axies are also sold, but their cost is lower.
There are additional restrictions on breeding creatures that prevent excessive population growth. For example, it is not possible to cross parents and offspring, or siblings.
Axie can be used in virtual battles. You must have three creatures to compete. Players receive rewards in SLP tokens for winning. Winning also earns points that increase the user's rating. Its high value allows you to receive large rewards, but will have to fight with strong opponents.
Beginners are available to battle with monsters attacking the virtual land. For the victory they get rewards in utility-tokens. Users have a high chance of winning such battles, but it brings a small profit.
Gameplay requires an initial investment. To breed Axie or participate in battles, creatures must be purchased. The game also uses virtual items that increase the likelihood of winning. Game items can be purchased on the trading floor. Users can also rent Axie. Similar services are provided by in-game guilds.
In addition to battles, there is the possibility of gameplay in a meta universe called Lunacia. The latter consists of lands where you can search for virtual items and resources. AXS tokens can also be found there.
There are 90,601 plots in the metavirtual universe, represented in the form of NFTs. The lands are divided into regions. Only part of the plots are owned by the players.
Users have several ways to generate income. One of them is breeding and selling Axies. The second source of income is rewards for winning virtual battles.
Earning in Axie Infinity
Users can also sell found items. Game objects can be bought for later sale at a higher price. Trading operations are carried out on Axie Infinity Marketplace.
Axie Infinity can generate income for players. Axie Infinity is especially popular among Filipinos, many of whom even quit their jobs to play. The Philippine authorities have even declared the necessity of taxing gamers.
How does the Axie Infinity ecosystem work?

Axie Infinity Shard (AXS)
AXS (Axie Infinity Shard) coin is a management token that allows holders to engage in steaking and receiving rewards in AXS. Rewards come from the community fund where in-game items are stored. AXS totals 270,000,000 coins. Some tokens have been set aside for public sale, some for in-game use, and some for Sky Mavis and project consultants. The initial offering at the first public sale was just under 60,000,000 coins. The number of tokens issued is expected to grow annually until 2026.
