So what is Moonbeam?
Moonbeam is a parachain of the Polkadot network, which is a decentralized network that aims to solve the Polkadot and Ethereum interconnection problem. The Moonbeam project is aimed at developers who can use the same tools they are used to in Ethereum to develop applications on the Polkadot network.
In simple terms, Moonbeam is a bridge between Polkadot and Ethtreum, allowing existing Solidity smart contracts and DApp interfaces to be deployed on the Polkadot network virtually unchanged.
What is Moonbeam for?
The smart contract platforms that currently exist are designed to serve users and assets of a particular blockchain. Moonbeam allows developers to migrate existing projects to Ethereum and extend the reach of their applications to new users in other blockchains.
The basic principles of the Moonbeam platform:
- Absolute decentralization and complete absence of permissions.
- Full EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) implementation, allowing Solidity smart contracts to be ported almost unchanged.
- Ability to use key Ethereum tools including Truffle, Remix and MetaMask without modifications.
- Compatibility with all existing Substrate Ecosystem Toolset tools, giving developers a huge choice.
- Built-in cross-chain functionality that will make it possible to exchange tokens and information within a single multiplatform network.
- The ability to manage the underlying protocol and develop it for each user.
If the Polkadot network continues to grow, the Moonbeam crosschain will become more global along with it.
By creating smart contracts based on it, developers will be able to realize their ideas much faster and take advantage of all the advantages of existing blockchains.

I think that Moonbeam remains one of the most important Polkadot parachines, because it's one of the few projects that offers full Ethtreum compatibility.
